Introduction to UX Design
By Naufal Al-Khalifa Utomo
After learning about UI Design, the next concept I started exploring is UX Design. UX stands for User Experience, which focuses on how users feel when interacting with a website or application.
While UI design focuses on how a website looks, UX design focuses on how a website works and how comfortable it is for users to navigate and interact with it.
What is UX Design?
UX Design is about creating a smooth and enjoyable experience for users when they visit a website or use an application. A good user experience makes it easy for people to find information, navigate pages, and complete actions without confusion.
If a website has poor UX design, users may struggle to understand how to use it, which can lead to frustration and cause them to leave the site.
Important Principles of UX Design
While learning UX design, I discovered several principles that help improve the overall experience of a website.
- Simple and clear navigation
- Fast loading pages
- Consistent layout across pages
- Easy-to-read text and content
- Clear actions such as buttons and links
These principles help users interact with a website without confusion.
Why UX Design is Important
Even if a website looks visually appealing, poor user experience can still make it difficult to use.
Good UX design helps visitors stay longer on a website because they can easily find what they are looking for. This is why many developers and designers focus on both UI and UX together.
Learning UX Through Observation
One way I practice learning UX design is by observing different websites and analyzing how they guide users through their content.
I pay attention to navigation menus, button placement, page structure, and how information is organized.
This helps me understand how experienced designers create smooth and intuitive user experiences.
The Next Step in My Learning Journey
After understanding the basics of HTML, CSS, UI design, and UX design, the next step in my learning journey is exploring responsive web design.
Responsive design allows websites to adapt to different screen sizes, such as mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers.
In the next article, I will explore how responsive design works and why it is essential for modern web development.
